A natural part of aging, wrinkles refer to the lines and creases that form in the skin. They are most prominent on sun-exposed skin such as the face, neck and hands.
There are 2 main forms of wrinkles – static and dynamic.
Static wrinkles are formed as part of the natural aging process and remains on the face even after relaxation of facial muscles and tend to deepen with age
Dynamic wrinkles are formed by reproducing facial movements like squinting and furrowing of brows and fades as quickly as they appear
Types of Wrinkles
Dynamic wrinkles caused by muscle activity that runs across the forehead.
Vertical lines that appear between the brows and often known as “glabellar lines” or “number 11’s”.
Wrinkles that extend out horizontally from the corners of the eyes.
Vertical wrinkles that run from the outer corners of the nose to the outer corners of the mouth.

- Age
- Sun exposure
- Dry and dehydrated skin
Solutions
- Stay out of the sun. UV rays can increase inflammation and redness, possibly leading to post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation*
